Canon-McMillan School District Video Script

The challenge: Create a video to attract top educators to a public school district.

My role: Writing the script, organizing the video shoot, promoting the video and streamlining the accessibility of the District’s application via their website.

The results: A near 80% increase in applications from the year prior for the District’s K-4 teaching position.

About Sylvie August

Thriving at the intersection of writing and public relations, Sylvie August began her career as a Communications Associate at Pittsburgh-based public relations agency, Krakoff Communications. She acted as a primary client contact and managed public relations campaigns, served as a bridge between clients and local media and, of course, composed a diverse palette of writing projects that not only matched but also crafted each client’s brand voice.

August graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in digital and print journalism and a minor in art history, where she served as VALLEY Magazine’s Copy Editor, assisting the outlet’s top editors with copyediting its 70-page print edition. Her writing has been published in Ocean City Magazine, VALLEY Magazine, PennLive and more.
